Craft: operation thanksgiving tablescape #1

Craft:  Operation Thanksgiving Tablescape #1

Creating my Thanksgiving tablescape is a process.  One in which I will be crafting the majority of the decor myself.  Between the dollar store, Michaels and JoAnne Fabrics I should be able to complete all the pieces to my dream creation.  My first project started as I was eating dinner the other night with the kids.  I looked up at my collection of empty wine bottles and noticing how dusty they had become.  I then made a mental note to remove them or do something with them.

The design is simple, modgepodge, wine bottles and glitter.  Start by removing all labels, it doesn't have to be perfect just free of paper.  I let mine soak in the sink filled with warm water, then scraped them off using my nails, remember it doesn't have to be perfect since you are going to cover them anyway.  I simply coated the bottles with modgepodge, working in a vertical pattern.  Then coating with glitter before moving onto the next section.  I completed two layers of modgepodge and glitter before topping them off with a final layer of modgepodge and allowing them to dry overnight.

Craft numero uno of operation Thanksgiving tablescape is complete, only about 50 more to go.  Ok, I'm exaggerating a bit, but I do have a lot to get done and not a lot of time.  Wish me luck!
